Lover's Leap State Park Engagement Session - Callie + Matt

Callie and Matt reached out to me as they were planning their wedding at Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, CT. I was very thrilled as I really like that venue and wanted to work there. While we were talking about them, their wedding and what not, Callie mentioned they also wanted to have an engagement session done and were not sure about the location. “I know just the perfect one!” - I said. Lover’s Leap State Park couldn’t be a better choice for any engagement session, proposal or intimate ceremony. The name speaks for itself!

We scheduled their engagement session for the weekend of Thanksgiving. It was nice and crisp in the air. We began shooting at the red bridge. It is simply amazing. With its rich textures and patterns it offers a lot of creativity and angles for great shots.

Then we took a little hike through the woods, encountered a fallen tree that was kinda blocking the way, but not for me. I saw a great opportunity of shooting through it (see below). And then of course, when I see a tall yellow grass I can’t pass by it…

And finally the view! Kinda scary, not gonna lie. But so peaceful and romantic. So we spent some time there, enjoying it, laughing and taking more amazing pictures (artistic ones as well).

Some captures from under the bridge. Industrial, raw, direct flash, paparazzi moments, blended with shapes, structures and what’s given…

Still in the New York state of mind after the Saturday’s proposal. First started at East River Esplanade then moved to the rooftop in Manhattan which was a total cherry on top.
What a better way to end a photoshoot in NYC than on a rooftop!

As photographers we typically avoid harsh light, shadows and shooting into the sun. We’re looking for backlight that creates clean portraits with beautiful backlit backgrounds. Yes, I love backlighting with all my ❤️ But there’s something
VIBE ….. this couple definitely had one.

And no matter how much planning you put into or vision you have prior to the session, most couples will lead the direction you go with and create an authentic VIBE true to their relationship.

A few from the proposal...

Embracing the black and whites, intensional movement blur, details, candids and romantics done a bit differently.

Also, doesn’t he look like Alfred Molina?

Indian traditions and events are especially close to my heart, embracing a kaleidoscope of colors, rich clothing, time-honored customs, and above all, genuinely warm people.

Had an honor to photograph Tegh + Cam’s engagement ceremony at Gurdwa
